After weeks of dedicated preparation, the much-anticipated Sports Day of Scope Global School for the academic year 2024-25 finally arrived on September 21st. Students had been rigorously training for their events, and teachers worked tirelessly under the hot sun to perfect the arrangements. Yet, on the morning of Sports Day, the skies opened up—it was raining!
Undeterred by the weather, the teachers arrived at ICF Stadium in Aynavaram, rolled up their sleeves, and set up the props, determined to proceed as planned. Parents were asked to arrive by 7:30 a.m., but as the time approached, it was still raining. Fortunately, the rain subsided shortly after, leaving behind a cloudy but dry morning. The parents began to trickle in, and the stadium soon filled with the excited chatter of students, dressed in vibrant blue, green, yellow, and red—the colors of their respective school houses.
By 8:30 a.m., the day’s festivities were finally ready to begin. Students delivered welcome speeches, and the school choir opened the event with a heartfelt prayer. Following this, the four houses of Scope Global marched proudly in a parade, each under its house flag.
To signal the official start of the Sports Day, an Olympic-style torch was lit and carried around the stadium by students in a relay, cheered on by parents and peers alike. The torch was ceremoniously handed over to the founder, who lit a large cauldron in the center of the field. This was followed by a grand oath-taking ceremony led by the House Captains, reinforcing the spirit of fair play and teamwork.
Mrs. Dipti Sharad, the school's founder and correspondent, then took center stage to hoist the school flag and declare Sports Day officially open.
With the formalities complete, it was time for the real action! Students competed with enthusiasm, striving to win medals while also enjoying the day. Between events, the audience was treated to captivating performances—drills, yoga demonstrations, and impressive human pyramids showcased the students’ discipline and teamwork.
In a delightful twist, parents who had been cheering from the stands were invited to participate in a fun-filled competition, and their laughter and excitement added to the day’s festive atmosphere.
Throughout the event, prizes were awarded not only to students but also to parents, teachers, and support staff. And as the day drew to a close, the points were tallied, and Faith House was crowned the overall winner, with Harmony House as the runners-up. The stadium buzzed with celebration as parents, students, and staff mingled, enjoying the pleasant weather and the joyful ambiance.
In her closing speech, Mrs. Sharad thanked everyone for their participation and declared Sports Day officially closed, marking the end of a wonderful event filled with memories that will surely be cherished for years to come.
